Professional Practice

Professional approaches to work in the media industry is crucial to composing a desirable product. Time-management, communication and high-standards of work are all profoundly important to creating the sort of work that you want to make. If you do not conduct yourself accordingly in the workplace, or take your work seriously enough, then you will not succeed.

In the projects that I have created so far, professional practice has always been a priority of mine, I have always tried to write in an articulate, comprehensive and sophisticated manner, which conveys the care I take in ensuring that my work is always of satisfactory standards, as I am indeed most passionate about my output in creative media studies.

I could certainly improve on my professional practice in areas, I could definitely work on my punctuality, my time management skills, my ability to adapt and also my general skills in media, such as camera-operating, editing and the theory of media and film.

It is extremely important to further your skills, but also to pay attention to your weaknesses and see where you can improve. I plan to get better at filming as well as using a camera and editing, due to the fact that editing is the silent art of film that is crucial at the final stage of film production.

My most prominent skill, is music. I have produced multiple musical releases, all recorded by myself with no outside help. Music is what I plan to dedicate my time to, which will be focused particularly in film and composing things like soundtracks, sound effects and audio editing which I have numerous years of experience with.

For my final major project, I plan to pay a lot of attention to improving my skills in camerawork and editing, due to the fact that the nature of my final major project is indeed, a short film. This will demand the best of me in every sense and I am very excited to commit myself to this goal.
